Willpower is not enough.

Welcome to my weight loss journey, I used to be a skinny, malnourished teen. At 16 I fell in love with the gym and had an impressive physique and strength. at 25 I’ve ballooned up to 335lbs, at 6’2” I carry it well but I grew to hate how far I’d fallen. This blog is my journey to regain my physique and become healthy again. I hope you’ll join me and learn from my experiences, and that they help you on your own journey of improvement, be that weight loss, professional growth or personal development.

Willpower is not enough. What is?

Over the last few years I’ve realised that willpower isn’t sufficient to help you achieve your goals. This isn’t revolutionary thinking, many people have said it, it’s the title of a book! It’s true.

When it comes to achieving difficult goals to paraphrase James Clear (Atomic Habits) you’ve got to make it easy and desirable to do the right thing, and make it hard and undesirable to do the wrong thing. Break your goals into chunks of actionable activities that you need to perform to achieve the goals, then figure out how to make those activities as easy and desirable as possible. Also figure out what activities you currently perform will make achieving this goal harder, find out a way to make them harder and undesirable.

I hope the above has given you a taste of who I am, my philosophy, and created some excitement to get started on being better. Head over to my blog posts for more information and tips on achieving your goals.
